Alaskan Husky - Alaska Marine Highway Ferry ServiceAlaska Marine Highway Ferry Service

For more than 50 years the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System has been transporting people and their cars to the amazing Islands and Territories of Alaska. The Alaska Ferry System now has 11 vessels connecting 35 cities and communities in America's northernmost state. While making reservations be sure to check for advertised specials on the Official Alaska Marine Highway System website like their "Round Trip Driver Goes Free" Summer special for licensed drivers accompanying their passenger vehicle on a mirror image round-trip itinerary with conditions and exclusions of course.

There are also discounted fares for persons 65 and older. Lucky geezers..... and children under the age of 6 travel free, kids ages 6-11 travel for about 1/2 price while kids 12 and up have to pay a full adult fare. While these 12 year olds may get a kick out of being classified an adult you can be sure their parents paying their fare don't. It is also worth mentioning that you must be 21 years or older to enjoy beer, wine, or cocktails in the ship's cocktail lounge.

Ship Amenities On Many Of The Alaska Marine Highway Ships Include:
PRIVATE CABINS: Private cabins outfitted with either single or double bunk bed style berths. Most with private bathroom. Those accustom to travelling to Alaska on luxury cruise ships should take note that rooms do not include daily service, evening turn-down or towel animals, and your fresh linens, pillows and blankets are available but only upon request and a small fee.
