Bellingham Area Trails

The Bellingham area has an amazing number of trails, from urban greenbelts and bay front parks, secluded forest trails lush with ferns, and magnificent mountain trails.    Some of the most interesting and beautiful trails are part of the Chuckanut Mountain Trail System with fabulous views of Chuckanut bay and the San Juan Islands.    People come from all over Northwest Washington and British Columbia to visit Larrabee State park and hike the Chuckanut trail system.

North Lost Lake Trail

 

This is one of the best beginning points because it gives you access to a number of other trail junctions.   It also is mostly a north/ south trail. 0.4 Miles One Way rr
Raptor Ridge Trail

 

A short hiking trail to the top of raptor ridge.  Short but steep and winding trail 0.3 Miles One Way rrr
Chuckanut Ridge Trail Fantastic views are the hallmarks of this meandering ridge trail that connects at one end to Cleator road, and N. Lost Lake on the other. 4.1 Miles One Way rr
Salal Trail A deep woods experience-- Salal trail is a lush and beautiful trail that also serves as a connector between N. Lost Lake Trail and Hemlock Trail. 1.2 Miles One Way rr
Pine and Cedar Lakes Trail One of the not-to-be-missed trails of the Chuckanut trail system.  Hike to two alpine-type lakes and enjoy beautiful views of the San Juan Islands and Mount Baker.    The trail follows relatively level abandoned railroad grade but it is a bit steep at first. 2-3 Miles One Way rrr
Interurban Trail This unique trail follows an abandoned railroad grade that is mostly level so it is good for biking, jogging and walking.  There are a few steeper sections but it is considered an easy trail. 5.9 Miles One Way r
Huckleberry Point Trail A short hike gives you views of Lake Padden, Sehome Hill & Beyond 0.4 Miles One Way r
Madrone Crest Trail To get to this trail you will first have to make your way up either North Lost Lake Trail or Hemlock trail.    Once at the very top you will be treated to views of Mount Baker. 0.7 Miles One Way r
Teddy Bear Cove Trail This is a strenuous but very beautiful trail offering views of chuckanut bay and magnificent shoreline views.   0.9 Miles One Way rrr
